An Australian company is about to start work on a multi million dollar rebuild of the urban area of Vanuatu's capital, Port Vila.

RMS Engineering & Construction signed a contract last week to start the first phase of the Port Vila Urban Development Project.

It involves road improvements, drainage and signage.

The project is funded by the Australian government aid programme and with a loan from the Asian Development Bank.
