Two Iranian refugees resettled in Cambodia from Nauru under a multi million dollar deal with Australia have returned home.
According to The Cambodia Daily the husband and wife have left for Iran voluntarily in the last few weeks.
Their departure leaves just one refugee in Cambodia from the original group which was resettled under a multi-million dollar deal between Cambodia and Australia.
The pair were among four refugees who were transferred from Nauru to Cambodia in June.
An ethnic Rohingya man from Burma also in the original group decided to leave in October.
The Cambodia Daily reports Cambodian immigration authorities were given no reason for the couple's decision to return home.
Australia agreed to cover the expenses of refugees who take up the offer for at least a year and offered Cambodia almost $US40 million in aid for agreeing to take them.
