A lack of police prosecutors in Papua New Guinea's capital, Port Moresby, has seen an increasing number of cases dismissed from the courts.
EMTV reports that over the past three months the Waigani Committal Court, the city's busiest, had dismissed more than 10 criminal cases because of incomplete files.
Senior Constable Judith Paulus said prosecutors relied on information provided by investigators, and their increasing workload meant they did not have enough time to look thoroughly into each case.
She said more police prosecutors were desperately needed.
