The EU's Pacific Ambassador Andrew Jacobs says additional financial support is expected on top of the initial funding.

Fiji's already struggling sugar and agriculture sectors were decimated by the category five cyclone Winston, which damaged much of the country when it swept through in February.

Mr Jacobs says the EU has already made more than $US4.8 million available with a particular focus on farming communities, as well as the provision of 450,000 fruit and vegetable seedlings.
