Six villagers are missing after a landslide in West Papua.

The Jakarta Post says road access to the area's provincial capital Manokwari has been cut, isolating 1,000 families.

A spokesperson for Indonesia's National Disaster Management Agency, Sutopo Purwo Nugroho, says a rescue team with food supplies has been sent to help the villagers.

Mr Nugroho says the landslide was triggered by two days of heavy rain, which has flooded much of the remote mountain district.
