New Zealand's Samoa Language Week this year will include, for the first time, a new resource to help people learn Gagana Samoa.

The minister for Pacific Peoples, Peseta Sam Lotu-Iiga, said the resource is a response to requests from schools and communities for more tools to help teach and participate in the language week.

He said it includes pronunciation support, helpful words and phrases and a lot of activity ideas.

Vaiaso o le Gagana Samoa, or Samoan Language Week, starts on May 29th.
