Reports from French Polynesia say an Air Tahiti pilot safely landed his plane after an engine overheated and caught fire.
The public broadcaster said the ATR aircraft was on its way fom Tubuai when the incident occurred.
The report said the pilot shut down the engine and ten minutes later the plane touched down in Tahiti.
This came just days after a three-week strike at the airline was settled.
