More US help coming to American Samoa over Zika

The US Department of Health and Human Services is giving $US742,000 dollars to health centers in American Samoa and the U.S. Virgin Islands to combat Zika.

The money is to go to three health care centres.

Department secretary Sylvia Burwell says they are working to learn as much about zika as they can, as quickly as they can, and ensure the public is well informed.

She says the goal is to reduce the risk of zika, especially among pregnant women and women of childbearing age.
