In the Northern Marianas, heavy to moderate rain showers and thunderstorms southwest of Tinian and Saipan is expected to cause flooding on both islands this weekend.
Homeland Security & Emergency Management issued a warning on Friday as Tropical Storm Omais has gradually strengthened as it moves north towards Japan.
Emergency services have warned that heavy rainfall of one to two inches would cause flooding in poor drainage and small streams.
Authorities have already received reports of excessive runoff and advised the public to not attempt traveling across flooded roads.
