9:32 am on 15 September 2016

One hundred new Justices of the Peace were sworn in by Fiji's Chief Justice on Wednesday in the country's largest-ever swearing in ceremony.

The Government said the new appointees will significantly expand the reach of the service's offering in the country.

For the first time, there will be Justices of the Peace in Kabara, Vanuabalavu and Qarani, in Gau.

Fiji now has 351 active Justices of the Peace.
