Big theft reported at PNG's Jackson Airport

Hundreds of thousands of dollars have been stolen from a terminal at Jackson Airport in the Papua New Guinea capital, Port Moresby.

Five armed men, dressed in the uniforms of a secuirty firm made the raid on Thursday.

The Post Courier reports the 1.2 million kina, or $US371,000 dollars, in cash was for staff wages and operation expenses for a private business in Western Province.

Police say the company had deposited the money in an office at the terminal on Wednesday ahead of it being flown to Western Province.
