Fiji is to share the presidency of the 23rd Session of the Conference of the Parties, or COP 23, to the UN Convention on Climate Change with Germany.

The meeting is being held in Bonn.

The Fiji Prime Minister Frank Bainimarama said the Chinese donation will go into an account set up to finance Fiji's efforts to effectively carry out the role.

He said Fiji has set out a bold presidential vision for COP-23 that will require significant financial and technical support from the international community.
