Governor Lolo who is wrapping up his first term as governor said at his final cabinet meeting last week that the quality of education in American Samoa needs to be improved.

He said he had informed both the Attorney General Talauega, Utu Abe Malae, and the Director of Human Resources Le'i Sonny Thompson, that the educational system must be reformed.

Governor Lolo said fresh ideas were needed to run the Department of Education although he had not yet decided on whether to select a person or a group to deal with the Department of Education.

The governor asked directors to put forward ideas and advise on ways that the education system can be improved and urged cabinet to do a better job over the next four years.
