The central division encompasses about half of Viti Levu, including the capital Suva.

Fiji village reports FEA officials conducted patrols to find out what caused the outage.

The Authority said power was quickly restored and the outage was not related to a magnitude 6.9 earthquake which struck 221km south west of Nadi and at a depth of 17km just before 11am.
