Aumua, who took the oath of office for her second time yesterday, said it was a "tremendously exciting" time in the nation's capital and expects many good things to happen for American Samoa in the 115th Congress.

She won by an overwhelming margin, garnering 8,923 votes or 75.4 percent, in last year's November general election.

The Congresswoman wished American Samoans a blessed and happy New Year.

"I thank God for this opportunity along with all of the people of American Samoa who have put me in this position," she said.

Aumua said she regretted not being able to attend the inauguration ceremony of the Governor and Lieutenant Governor as it was on the same day as her swearing-in.
