Two children are among the dead and ten people are in Popondetta Hospital.
Three people are in critical condition.
The Post Courier reports the public bus carrying 23 passengers collided with an oil palm truck belonging to Higaturu Oil Palm Ltd on Monday.
12 people died at the scene and one died later in hospital.
