Waisake Kaloulia and Kaminieli Naqeleca have been sentenced to 19 and 18 years imprisonment respectively for growing the largest amount of cannabis ever seized in Fiji.

They had grown more than 160 kilogrammes of the drug in Tailevu when they were arrested two years ago.

The sentences have a non-parole period of 15 years.

The public prosecutor said both men had 30 days to appeal.
