3:25 pm on 23 February 2017

Niue's new high commissioner to New Zealand will be long-time politician, Fisa Pihigia.

Mr Pihigia worked as a customs officer before he became an MP in 1993 and then a cabinet minister.

He replaces O'Love Jacobsen who is returning to Niue after six years in Wellington.

Mrs Jacobsen, who had previously been in cabinet, wants to return to parliament in the May 6th elections and has made no secret of her plans to seek the premiership.
