The Oceania Football Beach Soccer Development Officer says the format's future is looking bright in the Pacific region.
Tahiti, who were Oceania's representative at the recent world cup, performed admirably despite losing in the tournament final to an impressive Brazil.
Paul Toohey expects Tahiti's feats to lead to a continual growth of the game around the region.
He said New Caledonia and Tonga have fledgeling domestic beach soccer programmes and the next step for them would be international play.
Toohey said FIFA can and would support all forms of the game.
"The countries now have the ability to specify specific projects so if you are strong in a particular area of the game, as you put together your strategic plan for the four year cycle that they generally operate in or for eight years."
"Certainly they can put in a strong case to really develop a particular form of the game such as beach soccer," he said.
