The Fiji-born founder and CEO of New Zealand's Radio Tarana, Robert Khan, has been awarded the New Zealand Order of Merit.
Mr Khan has been acknowledged for his service to broadcasting and the Indian community after more than 20 years running Radio Tarana which is New Zealand's first commercial Indian radio station.
Mr Khan also founded festivals showcasing Indian culture and helped launch New Zealand's first health units for people of Asian and Pacific ethnicity.
