An Australian newspaper report says asylum seekers on Nauru are embroiled in a prostitution and drug scandal.

It said there have been at least six arrests.

The Courier-Mail said the asylum seekers have been accused of using a teenage prostitute, as well as growing marijuana.

One asylum seeker has now been charged with indecent assault of a minor, while four others were arrested and are in custody relating to drug charges.

It believed the asylum seekers were growing and processing marijuana.

The Courier-Mail said the Nauru Government has not responded to its requests for more information.
