An airline based in Florida wants to start operating flights from China to the Northern Marianas from September.

Chris Concepcion from the Marianas Visitors Authority said XTRA Airways had already submitted an application to the Federal Aviation Administration and the US Department of Transportation.
Mr Concepcion said XTRA also planned to introduce inter-island flights between Guam and Saipan.
He said the airline could also boost the number of tourists visiting the CNMI from North America.
