A new sewage treatment facility has been installed in Vanuatu's Port Vila to deal with the disposal of waste from septic tanks.
Called "septage" the septic waste is being treated courtesy of a multi-million dollar scheme funded by the governments of Vanuatu, Australia and the Asian Development Bank.
Located in Bouffa the scheme consists of two septage ponds managed by a eight staff and is expected to improve Port Vila's waterways and the health of residents in surrounding communities.
