The Fijian Drua have lost their opening match in Australia's National Rugby Championship, going down 45-36 to Brisbane City.

But a late comeback from the Drua has put the competition on notice.

Down 40-12 with twenty minutes remaining, the Drua ran in four tries for a total of six to Brisbane's seven.

Ill-discipline cost the Drua two yellow cards with hooker Samu Suguturaga cited for biting.

It has been alleged Suguturaga bit the Brisbane captain on the ear drumming a scrum in the 29th minute.

The Fijian will face a judicial hearing on Tuesday night ahead of the Drua's next game against Melbourne Rising on Saturday.
