Faizul Ariff Ali has been appointed as the Governor of the Reserve Bank of Fiji for a term of five years.

Fiji Village says the appointment was made yesterday on the advice of the Constitutional Offices Commission.

The Commission held a meeting to consider all applications for the role and decided to recommend Mr Ali as governor.

He previously served as the Deputy Governor of RBF, and was appointed as the Acting Governor in May this year following the expiry of the term of Barry Whiteside.
