Full working hours have been restored for government employees in American Samoa effective from 1 October.

Governor Lolo Moliga made the announcement at a cabinet meeting on Tuesday.
In April, the working day for government employees was reduced from eight to seven hours excluding teachers and doctors.
In May, grant funded employees were added to the list of those exempted, and a short time after that employees earning salaries of $US20,000 and less had their hours restored.
The governor said full working hours had returned after consultation with finance directors.
He said while they realised the economy was not doing well that should not stop government employees from doing what needed to be done.
