The paper's Rosalyn Albaniel Evara died suddenly earlier this month and a police investigation is underway into a purported domestic violence incident.

Criticism of the paper has followed, with concerns about its duty of care to employees.

The Post Courier's editor Todagia Kelola says allegations by former editor Alexander Rheeney, that not enough was done to ensure Ms Evara's safety, were unfair and unwarranted.

"My conscience is very clear. Now I'm pretty certain that what our former editor stated, he was aware of the situation. He was aware of instances of when staff at our compound, when Rosalyn went to seek assistance, they took her to the police station, there were complaints laid."
