There has been a fatal accident at the Vale nickel plant in New Caledonia.
The company has issued a brief statement to say that a worker was doing his job when the accident happened this morning.
It said psychological support had been offered to staff and the victim's family.
Police are on the site in Goro and have launched an inquiry.
