Sport: Pacific Mini Games hold test events

Test events will be held in Port Vila today as part of the final preparations for next month's Pacific Mini Games in Vanuatu.

Netball, tennis, ​table​ ​tennis,​ beach​ ​volleyball,​ archery,​ boxing​ ​and​ ​karate are all on the schedule at the Korman Stadium.​

Other​ ​activities​ on offer during the day ​include​ ​a​ ​mini​ ​kids​ ​fun​ ​zone,​ giveaways and​ ​prizes,​ ​food stalls​ ​and​ a ​chance​ ​to​ ​meet​ the Games' mascots, while a music festival will take place in the evening.

There will also be a launch of ​​16​ ​Days​ ​of​ ​Activism​​, ​supporting​ ​the national​ ​programme​ ​in​ ​the​ ​stand​ ​against​ ​​​violence​ ​to​ ​women​, empowering​ ​​women​ ​and advocating​ ​​​gender​ ​balance.​ ​

More ​than​ ​2000​ ​athletes​ from 23 nations are registered to compete in 14 sports at the Mini Games, which officially starts on Monday December 4.
