Fiji's anti corruption agency FICAC has sought directions from the court in the appeal against the acquittal of a government minister Mahendra Reddy of bribery charges.

The Fiji Times reports the Fiji Independent Commission against Corruption filed an appeal with the High Court in Suva on December 7 against the judgement of the Chief Magistrate Usaia Ratuvili.

Dr Reddy, former Education Minister and now Minister for Waterways , was acquitted earlier last month of one count of bribery and one count of undue influence.

FICAC today sought directions from the court on the case.

FICAC has appealed on eight grounds.

The case has been adjourned until February 9.
