Police Commissioner Le'i Sonny Thompson said police have already apprehended one of the four prisoners who escaped, but the search continues for the remaining three.

The prisoners still at large have been identified as Ryan Pite, Joe Togitogi, and Joseph Iakopo.

Police yesterday afternoon released their mug-shots to the news media for publication.

Le'i said the three escapees should be considered dangerous as they may be armed.

He said police were investigating the break-out and reviewing policies to prevent future escapes..

As part of the search for the escapees, police set up road blocks, checking all vehicles including public transportation, with police boarding buses to check on passengers.
