A union representing fire-fighters said that from tomorrow they would go on an unlimited strike after a dispute with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The union said the strike had been called because nothing had been done after three of its members at the territory's international airport were harassed despite an agreement to take action.

It said there would be more talks with the chamber and it wanted the government to get involved.

The strike is expected to affect Noumea's domestic airport at Magenta.
