More than 12,000 people affected by the recent floods in the Western division of Fiji have now received assistance from the National Provident Fund.

FBC News reported the fund had paid out over $US5 million so far.
Fund chief executive Jaoji Koroi said teams had issued more than 15,000 Natural Disaster forms to members during site inspections.
Members living in the Western Division should lodge forms by tomorrow as the Fund was in the process of closing off assistance, Mr Koroi said.
The focus was moving to Kadavu where the fund would work closely with the office of the commissioner for the Eastern Division to ensure members who need assistance are able to access it, he said.
