The leader of Fiji opposition party SODELPA Sitiveni Rabuka says the government's use of a foreign firm to recruit public servants is an irresponsible waste of money.
The government is using NGS Global to advertise for seven permanent secretary positions.
Mr Rabuka said the job listings cost taxpayers more than $US260,000 and were largely targeted at overseas markets.
He said local professionals were more than qualified and the use of an international firm was a waste of public funds.
Mr Rabuka said foreigners joining Fiji's public service also had a habit of leaving the job quickly after becoming unhappy with the government.
