Fiji's NFP says onerous public meeting rules scare off members

From , 6:05 am on 22 November 2016

The leader of an opposition party in Fiji says public order rules around meetings have become even more draconian and are designed to stop the opposition doing its job keeping in touch with its electorate.

The National Federation Party's Biman Prasad told Sally Round the party had to get a permit for an internal committee meeting at the weekend and it contained new more stringent conditions.

He says members are being scared off attending party meetings.
