From , 6:01 am on 30 January 2017

The West Sepik governor in Papua New Guinea Amkat Mai says planned industrial parks in his province will create jobs and bring major infrastructure boosts.

Two Chinese companies - Shenzhen Vivafounders, and the Metallurgical Corporation of China - agreed to spend almost US $4 billion dollars to build two industrial parks in west Sepik.

One is to  process timber products and other local natural resources; the other to process Chinese-sourced industrial products.

Mr Mai spoke to Johnny Blades about the project.
