In the latest in the saga of the former Director of Samoa's National Prosecution Office, her lawyer is to mount a counter-appeal against her conviction.
Mauga Precious Chang was found guilty last week in the Supreme Court of negligent driving causing injury.
Her conviction came after the District Court had acquitted her.
Our correspondent in Samoa says a former Attorney General, Aumua Ming Leung Wai, is acting on behalf of Mauga Precious Chang and requested a stay of proceedings in the District Court.
Autagavaia Tipi Autagavaia told Dominic Godfrey that Aumua will also make an application this week for the sentencing to be placed on hold while an appeal is mounted against the Supreme Court conviction.
