Efforts to tackle rising drug use in American Samoa

Efforts are continuing in American Samoa to curb a growing problem of illegal drug use, particularly among youth.

This year a new taskforce was set up and one aim was to formulate strategies to curb and try to eliminate illicit drugs..

The Department of Education drug free schools' program, the Department of Homeland Security and the Secretary of Samoan Affairs have chosen not to comment but our  correspondent Fili Saogapolutele told Sara Vui-Talitu that crystal meth and marijuana use is common.
