Vanuatu govt pushing ahead with controversial tax reforms

The Vanuatu government is pushing ahead with controversial tax reforms despite widespread opposition from the private sector and warnings from the international labour organisation.

A revised version of the new plan, which aims to introduce income and corporate tax, was submitted to the finance minister Gaetan Pikioune last week and will become policy once he tables it in cabinet.

But as Koroi Hawkins reports proposed reforms have raised more than a few red flags.
