The Supervisor of Elections in Tonga says his office is rushing to get the country ready for a vote a year ahead of schedule.

Last week's royal dissolution of parliament was accompanied by an order that elections be held on or before November the 16th.

The supervisor Pita Vuki was caught off guard by the move but he told Koro Vaka'uta his office is doing all it can to make things run smoothly.
