From , 6:03 am on 27 October 2017

The Vanuatu Government has lifted its state of emergency for the volcanic island of Ambae and its evacuees have returned.

Ambae's 11-thousand people had to be rapidly moved to nearby islands after the Manaro volcano began erupting last month.

The disaster co-ordinator on Ambae, Manuel Ure, has been back since Sunday.

Don Wiseman asked him about the state of the island.
