War of attrition being waged on Manus

From , 4:03 pm on 20 November 2017

An advocate says a war of attrition is being waged on Papua New Guinea's Manus Island, as refugees occupying the former detention centre resist police pressure to move.

About 400 refugees are still holed up in the centre that was closed by Australia at the end of October, when power, food, water and medication were cut.

Johnny Blades spoke with the advocate Ian Rintoul who says despite attempts to coerce the men into leaving, alternative facilities built to hold them on the island are not ready.

The 111th daily protest at the detention centre, 19-11-17.
