As the 1970s gave way to the 1980s, New Zealand society underwent a sea change.
In the post-punk/springbok tour era, it took a bright idea, $50, and a lot of good will to start Flying Nun Records, an independent record company based in Christchurch NZ.
Formed almost by accident to document the evolving music scene, and working project to project, it was fuelled by a freakishly good collection of songwriters and other creative types.
