- Features producer Justin Gregory begins his investigation of the phenomenon that is The Lonesome Buckwhips. Through interviews with the band members and archival material he begins to retrace the remarkable journey that led the Buckwhip family (Arty, Gary, Miri and Benny) from their humble beginnings in a one-bedroom caravan to the pinnacle of popular music success and back. This episode gives unprecedented account of Gary Buckwhip’s escape from prison and the resulting overseas tour that led to the Buckwhip’s alleged death on the high seas.

- Buckwhips Episode 2 - Life After Death
- The months between the sinking of the Interislander ferry Arahura and Gary Buckwhip’s arrest and interrogation (as an accessory to poaching) have been, up until now, shrouded in mystery. In this episode Justin Gregory sheds some light on what really happened in these months that became known as the Buckwhips “dead period” – a period when the fans of the band, and indeed people the world over, were in deep shock. - Buckwhips Episode 3 - Live at the Gold Guitars
- This episode centres around the Lonesome Buckwhip’s notorious performance at the Gold Guitars in Gore and their confrontation with iconic Kiwi singer/songwriter Barry Saunders – an event that was to have a long lasting effect on the band. We also investigate the circumstances around the arrest and imprisonment of the band’s leader, Arty Buckwhip. Justin Gregory’s interviews with Inspector Raymond Banks are especially revealing.
