After a life-threatening accident at the age of 19, Philadelphian Melody Gardot began her recording career.
Sometimes compared to the likes of Norah Jones and Madeleine Peyroux, Melody has recorded three studio albums and has established herself as a formidable songwriter as well as vocalist.
Her most recent album, The Absence, finds Ms. Gardot dabbling in the sounds of bossa nova, tango and calypso.
