Paul Diamond (Ngati Haua, Te Rarawa, and Ngāpuhi) is a writer, journalist, historian and broadcaster, and currently holds the position of Curator, Māori, at the Turnbull Library.
During his career he has produced radio features on Māori topics for Radio New Zealand, and worked as a senior reporter for Māori Television's current affairs show, Te Hēteri. His radio programmes have won Qantas Media and Media Peace Awards.
His first book, A Fire in your Belly (2003) is a collection of interviews with Maori leaders, and his 2007 biography, Makereti: Taking Māori to the World, was the inspiration for the exhibition about Makereti (Maggie Papakura) at the National Library.
Paul headed the judging panel for the 2011 New Zealand Post Book Awards.
