The enigmatic and distinctly niche New York label Tompkins Square has been riding a wave of critical acclaim since it was started by Josh Rosenthal in 2005.

Tompkins Square has documented the fertile present-day American Primitive guitar scene and released Grammy Award winning compilations.

Josh has chronicled his 30-year musical journey in a new book 'The Record Store of the Mind'. He talks with Trevor Reekie about the book and the role of Tompkins Square in bridging the gap from dust to digital:
