The Chinese Lantern Festival is one of the most vibrant cultural events on the Chinese calendar that dates back to 200BC. To celebrate the Chinese New Year of the Rabbit, Trevor Reekie invited two Chinese musicians into the Radio New Zealand studio to perform a selection of music, both folk and classical, that defines the spirit of the Lantern Festival. Mr Yu Lin Li features on a Chinese hammer dulcimer, the Yangqin, and Mr Shiqing Wang performs on a Chinese violin called the erhu.
