Mysterious bubbles have appeared around the Kaikōura peninsula, after last Monday's quake. And it's attracting a bit of attention. Matt Foy from Kaikōura Kayaks discovered the phenomenon at Whaler's Bay. He's been out and about today investigating.

And Dr Matthew Hughes, a lecturer in geohazard risk and resilience from the University of Canterbury, has travelled to Kaikōura to figure out what's going on.

Dr Bronwyn Wood is a senior lecturer at Victoria University, and principal investigator into research called Creating Active Citizens. Its aim is to empower young people to be active and critically informed citizens.

Professor Mark Sagar of Auckland University's Laboratory for Animate Technologies is starting a new project called 'Soul Machines' which will be expanding on similar technology - their goal is to create human like avatars.

He has been awarded Oscars for his work in films Avatar, and King Kong, his latest venture 'Soul Machines' has received 7.5 U.S million dollars in backing.

Jonathan Clark is a San Francisco resident, film-maker, photographer, globe-trotter, and Burning Man devotee. Every year he goes to the festival and takes photos of the incredible sights and costumes.

Jonathan's currently back in the country ahead of a slideshow of his Burning Man works in Auckand this Sunday evening at the Dogs Bollix in Newton.
