3:10 Kory Stamper: A Love Letter to Dictionaries

Kory Stamper is an associate editor at Merriam-Webster and a bit of a 'word nerd' celebrity. She's responsible for adding "bodice-ripper" to that dictionary. She argues that the job of lexicographer today is not to be the "word police" but rather to keep tabs on the way language is changing.

She's written a new book called Word By Word: The Secret Life Of Dictionaries. She says it is a love letter  to dictionaries in English.
